Dear Alliance-folk,
The Alliance cares deeply about its members, and we are saddened deeply to hear that some of you were hit by hurricane Harvey in the past week. We understand that the damages are incredibly large for some of you, and that several members are unable to get in-game.
There has been some concern about the activity rules laid out in our
Code of Conduct section VIII. Please be assured that all players hit by the hurricane will be granted 2 months of protection status, meaning that you will not be removed from the kinship. These 2 months can (and will) be extended should you need more time to recover and repair.
If you are one of the victims of Harvey, know that our hearts go out to all of you. Please inform us if you are impacted at your earliest convenience, with (if possible) an estimation when you will be able to return, so we can protect your current status in the kin.

Welcome to this second issue of The Alliance Quarterly! With a few weeks of experience in Update 20 and the great adventures in Mordor coming closer, The Alliance will remain a strong beacon of hope in these dark times of war!
Luckily there are also joyful events which will leave happier memories, like welcoming dozens of new kinnies or our beloved Tabriel drunkenly trying to run over fences, to our (and mostly my own) amusement. One such memory of which we are proud is that we were the host for the "Exploring The Lord of the Rings" event with the Tolkien Professor on March 28!
I'm also very happy to return to my old position of Defender of The Alliance in the Leadership Council now that I have more time for the game again. As always, if I can assist with anything - let me know and I'll see what I can do :)
May the Valar guide you on your travels,
Fordil, Defender of The Alliance -The Alliance of Landroval hosts: Dr. Corey Olsen

Letter from the Leadership Council:-Seasons Greetings Alliance Members:
2016 has been another great year for The Alliance. We have seen the kinship grow in many areas this year. From a large pool of members online, to more events being hosted, to more in-game spur of the moment runs.
The new kinship house mentioned in last months newsletter now has its chest open for normal storage operation, we do ask that members not use it for personal storage. If you have not already, please stop by and look over the new house and all of it's beauty. We would also like to thank all members that contributed decorations, time, and resources into our new abode. [Address: Tol Lochul - Pel Caun - Belfalas Homesteads]
We want to wish all Alliance members the very best of wishes for this holiday season. May this be a happy time for you both in real life and in-game. We look forward to 2017 and seeing you all back with us in the coming year.
-XOXOXO-
Maranwethiel, Golden-hearted Hero of The Alliance -

Event Focus of the Month:
Storytell Cafe
- The Cafe started as an in-character "happy hour," for mainly European players to get together and talk about what we did that week in Middle Earth. (Former Officer) Garidel had begun a similar event a while back, and we eventually decided to merge the two in order to get more players could get involved. I ended up taking over the event, and that is how Story Tell Cafe was born.
The first Cafe in June of 2016 was so much fun - we had stories, laughter and singing - and I was so happy it was a success that I started planning them every other weekend. I only had to cancel once due to a lack of attendance, but it was during a big event, and I knew in the back of my mind it might not be so smart to do it then but who knew :) When Rhanti came on as Ambassador, he got word of the event around to other kins and they began to join in as well. I've been hearing a lot of good and positive reactions to the Cafe - they like the idea and the set up. I do want to thank Rhanti and all the kinlings for their support in this because without your stories, the Cafe would not be able to go on.
Due to my health is was not possible last month but I am hoping December will bring us a lot of new stories and songs and all the other stuff we can do in the Cafe. I do hope we can get it up and running again because it is a wonderful time with members and we have a lot of fun. So please, if you want to tell a story of your travels, or your youth, or anything else please come join us at Story Tell Cafe every other Sunday at the new and improved Kinhouse!
